Most Android devices, nowadays, come with, what we call, bloatware. You’ve seen it. All of the apps and services that seem to magically be on your phone the minute you take it out of the box, but you never really wanted? Yeah, that’s the stuff.

The bloatware is installed by the manufacturers and/or carriers after making some type of deal with the app developer to have their app automatically installed on your device in exchange for a fee. The big downside to us, the user, is that most of these apps (because of how they are installed) are not able to be uninstalled. Well, this is, unless you are rooted.

With root access, we can remove the apps from where the manufacturer has installed them.

In this procedure, we’ll show you how to remove the bloatware on your LG G Flex.

After removing the bloatware from your LG G Flex, you’ll benefit in the following ways:

  • More storage space (these apps will be removed so they will no longer take up space on your device).
  • Faster performance (the apps that normally run constantly in the background will no longer run freeing up your phone’s resources).
  • Less crowded app drawer (these apps will no longer appear in your list of apps, making it easier to find the apps you actually use).

Interested? Here’s how to remove the bloatware on your LG G Flex:

I. Before You Begin

1. You must be rooted to do this tutorial. Head to our Rooting How To’s section, find your device, and do the How to Root tutorial listed for it there then return to this tutorial to continue.

II. Remove the Bloatware on the LG G Flex

1. Open the Play Store on your device.

2. Search for and install No Bloat (Free).

3. Open No Bloat.

4. Always allow Superuser permissions when prompted.

5. Tap on System Apps.

6. Tap on any app you want to remove and click backup and delete then click Okay.

7. Repeat step 6 until all the apps you want removed are gone.

III. Permanently Remove the Apps to Increase Storage Space (Optional)

1. Test out the phone for a while to make sure you didn’t delete anything you might have needed.

2. Open No Bloat.

3. Click on Backed Up Apps.

4. Tap on any app you want to remove entirely and click Delete Backup then click Okay (Once this is removed it is difficult to reinstall this app without scouring the internet for the apk replacement so just make sure it’s an app that you don’t use and doesn’t control anything you might use i.e. AirView, or other Samsung features you want to keep).

All set! Enjoy!
